Clinical Research Compliance Policy
The Office of Clinical Research (OCR) is committed to conducting research that is ethical, responsible and in compliance with the law. The MFA in collaboration with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) jointly created the Office of Clinical Research to ensure the integrity and quality of MFA participating in clinical research activities and to provide centralized oversight over all clinical research at MFA and SMHS.
The OCR shall issue policies, procedures, guidance, and forms related to clinical research practice and shall (i) provide oversight, education, support for clinical research activities, (ii) promote a culture of compliance for all areas of clinical research including privacy, ethics, billing, and (iii) ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and research regulations. Accordingly, Workforce Members participating in clinical research activities shall consult and follow the policies, procedures, guidance, and forms published by the OCR on the OCR website.
The OCR shall organize and facilitate a Clinical Research Compliance Committee (CRCC) to oversee clinical research compliance at both MFA and SMHS.
