The Office of the Associate Dean for Evaluation and Educational Research is teaming up with the Collaborative for Health Education Evaluation, Research, and Scholarship (CHEERS) to offer a monthly education research consultation service. Designed as an opportunity to consult with social science researchers and other GW colleagues in a friendly group setting, the consultation service is open to any student, trainee, or faculty member affiliated with SMHS.  

·  Aim: To provide interprofessional and interdisciplinary peer consultation for education projects, conference abstracts/presentations, and manuscripts. 

·  Audience: Any student, trainee or faculty member affiliated with SMHS.

·  Logistics: Please contact Dr. Zareen Zaidi (zzaidi [at] gwu [dot] edu (zzaidi[at]gwu[dot]edu)) to schedule a consultation. 

o Sessions will be held via Zoom, from noon to 1 pm

o The next open session will be held on Aug 23, 2022.

·  Format: Presenters will give a 10-minute overview of their project, posing specific questions for the group to consider and comment on.

About CHEERS:

·  CHEERS is a group of SMHS scholars with an interest and expertise in educational research. The group aims to foster a culture of interprofessional collaboration and networking; diversity and inclusion; and responsible research and scholarly thinking in health professions education. 

·  CHEERS serves as an interdisciplinary, inter-professional forum to discuss, plan, and execute educational research and scholarship. 

·  Members of the CHEERS Steering Committee have advanced training in medical and health professions education research and will help to moderate the consultation service. 

·  The CHEERS Steering Committee includes:

o Terry Kind, MD, MPH, Professor of Pediatrics
